Journalists from Android Authority have uncovered a hidden download manager in Google Play version 42.9.16-31. Although this feature is not yet available to the public, its design and functionality have now been revealed. We’ll keep you updated on when it becomes accessible.
How the Download Manager Works
Unlike traditional download managers, this one lacks typical features like pausing or resuming downloads. Instead, it displays a list of downloaded or recently installed applications that the user has not opened yet. Once an application is launched from the manager menu, it disappears from the list.
User Interface and Availability
The manager’s icon is located at the top of the interface, near the additional menu button. It shows the number of unopened applications, offering users a way to keep track of what they haven’t explored yet.
There is no information yet on when this download manager will be included in the public version of Google Play, notes NIXSOLUTIONS. We’ll keep you updated as soon as more details become available.
