NIX Solutions: Android 15 Released

Google has officially released the Android 15 operating system, initially rolling it out to its branded Pixel smartphones. This new version brings enhanced privacy features, improvements for foldable devices and tablets, and a theft detection system, including artificial intelligence-powered functions.

One notable addition is the new “personal space” feature, reported by The Verge. It allows users to hide specific apps—such as social networks, dating platforms, or banking services—from people with access to the device. Accessing these hidden apps requires extra authentication, and even the existence of the apps can remain invisible on the device.

Tools for Foldable Devices and Theft Detection

Android 15 offers improvements for foldable devices and tablets, such as the ability to pin and unpin the taskbar for quicker access to apps. Additionally, users can group two frequently used apps into a single icon, launching them simultaneously with one click.

The new system also enhances security with Theft Detection Lock, which can automatically lock the phone if artificial intelligence detects suspicious activity—like a sudden theft. Furthermore, the Remote Lock feature allows users to secure their phone from another Android device via a phone number and security check. Google states that many phones running Android 10 and higher will receive these features, and some users already have access.

Pixel Updates and Future Rollouts

Alongside Android 15, Google has released the October Pixel Feature Drop. New features include Night Sight for Instagram, enabling better low-light photography, and expanded controls for the Audio Magic Eraser tool. Over the coming weeks, Google will introduce a new capability for seamless file transfers between Pixel phones and tablets by placing the devices next to each other.

The Android 15 operating system was first launched last month through the Android Open Source Project but was initially unavailable on Pixel and other Android devices, reminds NIX Solutions. Now, with the rollout ongoing, we’ll keep you updated on future developments. You can explore the full list of Android 15 features on Google’s official website.
