This week, Google initiated the rollout of two new features designed to expand the capabilities of synced Android devices. These innovations focus on improving communication and internet sharing across multiple devices.

Video Call Transfer Feature

Google’s new feature allows users to transfer video calls between nearby Android phones and tablets. This functionality is currently available only in the Google Meet app, but it’s expected to become more widespread in the future. To use this feature, devices must be signed in to the same Google account. When transferring a call, the app displays a list of nearby Android devices available for the transfer.

Automatic Hotspot Sharing

The second feature enables automatic internet sharing across synced Android and Chrome OS devices. This allows users to automatically connect their devices to a single hotspot on their phone. To ensure automatic connection, users need to activate Bluetooth and the automatic location option on their devices. It’s worth noting that this feature is not available on Samsung devices, as the manufacturer offers a similar tool of its own design.

Both new features are available on devices running Android 11 and later versions, with Google services version 24.28.34 or higher installed, adds NIX Solutions. It’s important to note that these features are currently in beta testing, so their distribution will be gradual. It may take some time before they become available to all users.
