NIXSolutions: New Handwriting Features in Google Keep

In version 5.24.422.02.90 of the Google Keep app, lines of code reveal exciting new features. As reported by Android Authority, users will soon be able to “use handwriting, images, and text to sketch, illustrate, brainstorm, and save your ideas. Works great with a stylus or touch.” This new feature offers more flexibility than the existing drawing tools.

Floating Notes and Lock Screen Journaling

Another intriguing addition is the introduction of floating notes. According to code snippets, “Flick with the stylus to capture ideas from anywhere. Collect information with the screenshot tool.” Furthermore, users will have the ability to create notes directly from the lock screen. One code line specifies: “Journal your thoughts right from your lock screen. Keep will save them for you. By default, we create a new note each time. If you want to see the same note every time, go to the Keep app settings.”

Updated Handwriting Interface and Export Options

Android Authority journalists enabled the new handwritten notes interface, which will complement the existing drawing feature. The Pen and Selection tools remain familiar, but the stroke width slider and color selection interface have received updates. A new plus button allows users to add images (with cropping), formatted text, or photos. A movable cursor lets users reposition objects within the note, adds NIXSolutions.

Users can also choose from various line styles and grids, including large and small dots, small or large cells, or wide and narrow horizontal lines. A plain background option is also available. Completed notes can be exported as PDF files, adding to the app’s versatility.

We’ll keep you updated as these new features roll out to more users, providing greater functionality and creative possibilities within Google Keep.
