NIXSolutions: New “Hum to Search” Feature in YouTube Music App

The YouTube Music app for Android has been updated to version 7.02.51, introducing a new feature that allows you to “play, sing, or hum a song” to find the desired music track. When you tap the magnifying glass icon in the top right corner next to the microphone image, you can now see a new wave-shaped icon indicating this feature. Clicking it prompts you on the YouTube Music search page to “Play, sing, or hum a song” to find a tune you remember.

Improved Song Search with AI Integration

While the result obtained will not always be 100% accurate, it is still better than not having such an opportunity at all. The new feature, known as the Hum to Search option, enables users to search for a song using voice playback. This capability first appeared in Google search in 2020. According to 9to5google.com, it builds on the Now Playing feature found on Pixel devices and was integrated into the YouTube app last October. Artificial intelligence is used “to match the sound with the original recording.”

We at NIXSolutions will keep you updated on further enhancements and new features in the YouTube Music app. Stay tuned for more exciting updates and improvements!
