Microsoft has launched a very useful innovation in the Windows 10 operating system for smartphone users, reports IXBT. From now on, the Android application on PC function is working in the Your Phone application.

Previously, this Your Phone feature was only offered to members of the Windows 10 Insiders test program, and now Microsoft has made it available to regular Windows 10 users not participating in beta testing. This was announced by Microsoft Senior Program Manager Analy Otero Diaz on her Twitter page.

The improved integration of Android smartphones with Windows 10 was announced about two weeks ago at the Korean Samsung’s Unpacked event. The new function opens access to work with mobile applications directly on the PC. You can launch Android applications from your smartphone through Your Phone in a separate window on your PC, pin them to the taskbar and to the Start menu – just like regular computer programs.

At the moment, the function does not work with all smartphones in a row, but with a rather long list of Samsung models with Android 9.0 Pie and the Link to Windows application. So far, only one application is supported. However, by the end of the year it is planned to implement the ability to work with several Android applications on the computer screen.

As for the PC, it requires an OS version starting with Windows 10 October 2018 Update or newer. However, it is recommended to install the latest versions of Windows 10, Your Phone and Link to Windows. Also, the smartphone and the PC must be connected to the same Wi-Fi network, adds NIX Solutions.
