Clicking it prompts you on the YouTube Music search page to “Play, sing, or hum a song” to find a tune you remember.

While the result obtained will not always be 100% accurate, it is still better than not having such an opportunity at all. The new feature, known as the Hum to Search option, enables users to search for a song using voice playback. This capability first appeared in Google search in 2020. According to, it builds on the Now Playing feature found on Pixel devices and was integrated into the YouTube app last October. Artificial intelligence is used “to match the sound with the original recording.”
